(Sanskrit: vedānta.) Literally, the ‘end of the Veda’, Vedanta can refer to texts known as the Upanishads (Upaniṣads), which appear at the end of a corpus of the Veda, as well as philosophical and theological traditions focussed on the hermeneutics of the Upanishads. Often Vedanta is associated with non-dualism, though there are numerous Vedantas.
